LOCATION
An 18th century palace & gardens in the heart of Malta's historic core
Set in bustling Naxxar, a small, historic Maltese town a short drive from the capital, the Palazzo is a monumental walled garden cascading with blooms that scent Mediterranean breezes. Palazzo Parisio has for centuries been one of Malta’s finest private residences. The handsome bronze front door opens to reveal a vaulted marble hall with frescoed walls, grand statues and family portraits, setting the scene for the drama beyond. With its breathtaking interior and manicured Italianate gardens, 18th century Palazzo Parisio is one of Malta's most spectacular private houses.
A 300-YEAR HISTORY
Earliest references to the site of today’s Palazzo Parisio date back to the early 1700s, when Grand Master Antonio Manoel de Vilhena kept a hunting lodge here. The Orangery was created in 1733 and survives to this day, along with our chiselled stone grotto. Towards the end of the 1700s, the Parisio family took on the Palazzo, giving it its name, and in 1798, after the French invasion of Malta, Paolo Parisio loaned it to Napoleon.
In 1898 the Marquis Scicluna acquired Palazzo Parisio with a vision to transform it into a glorious winter palace – a mini-Versailles. With renowned Italian architect Carlo Sada at the helm, the Marquis’ vision was completed only a year before he died in 1907, leaving its future uncertain. Yet in the 21st century, the palace has experienced a new revival. The perfect bond between mother and daughter is the driving force behind a new phase within the Palace. With charm, elegance and a natural sense of style and bubbly warmth, they breathe new life into the dignified palace walls. Today visitors from all over the world are warmly welcomed by the Baroness Scicluna and her daughter, Justine Pergola.

Why Malta...

Brendan loved his first visit to Malta so much that he can't wait to get back there. So, here's the fun part. We're going back to get married! We'd love for you to come and celebrate with us in Malta two years after Brendan's proposal.

Travel & Accomodation
Flight:
Fly into Malta International Airport (MLA)
Being a destination wedding for most of our guests, we recommend being as organised as possible in regards to travel and accommodation, not only to the wedding itself, but to the country of Malta.
We recommend getting to Malta at least the day before the wedding as we wouldn’t want any delays preventing you from attending.
Be sure to have your passport in order and flights booked ASAP as we’ve been advised that flights into Malta around the date of our wedding are booking out quickly. The month of August is one of the best times to travel to Malta. The weather is at its peak and if you’re around for the weekend before and the weekend following our wedding, local Festa’s will be on full display.
Accomodation:
The wedding will be in the town of Naxxar.
However, there are more livelier cities nearby which are easily accessible as they’re not too far away from Naxxar.
Chapel 5 Boutique Suites B&B and The Village Boutique & Spa are both nearby accomodations to the wedding venue. Airbnb & Booking.com both have excellent accomodation options available too, some walking distance away from the venue.
The following neighbouring towns all have wonderful options still available.
Mosta (2km / approx 5mins away)
St Paul’s Bay (6.5km / approx 15mins away)
Mdina (6.5km / approx 15mins away)
Sliema (5.5km / approx 15mins away)
St Julian’s (5.5km / approx 15mins away)
Valletta (11km / approx 25mins away)
Travel/Rides:
We recommend downloading the following transport apps before the wedding;
-
Uber
-
Bolt
-
eCabs
Brendan and I found on our last trip to Malta, “Bolt” to be most reliable and affordable.
We want everyone to travel back to their accommodation safely. Please don’t drink drive and travel responsibly.

Dress Code
Our wedding will be held in the warm, sun-drenched summer afternoon to evening, so we encourage you to dress stylishly and comfortably. The setting will be elegant yet relaxed, blending timeless European charm with a touch of modern sophistication.
For women: Light, flowing dresses in breathable fabrics like linen, cotton, or silk are perfect for the occasion. Think soft pastels or floral prints. We ask that you please reserve whites, light creamy tones and light blue for the bridal party. Pair with comfortable heels or chic sandals.
For men: A lightweight suit or smart blazer paired with tailored trousers will keep you looking sharp while staying cool. You can opt for lighter fabrics such as linen or cotton, and feel free to skip the tie for a more relaxed yet polished look. Comfortable loafers or dress shoes are recommended.
Please keep in mind that we’ll be outdoors for part of the celebration, so be prepared for sun and possible uneven terrain.
Are children welcome?
Only if travelling from Australia or the children have been specified on your Save The Date invites. As much as we love all your children, we’d love to keep the wedding at a minimum with little ones. For those whose children are invited, please let us know if they will be attending as we don’t expect you to leave them behind if there’s no one to look after them. Again, only who is specified on your Save The Date invites, are invited.
Can I bring a Plus One?
In order to keep our wedding as intimate possible, only the guests formally invited on your Save The Date or in the message sent with the link to this Wedding Website will be accommodated for.
Will there be an Open Bar?
Certainly. The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you! We have signature cocktails organised and a small bar with beer, wine, soft drinks and water set up after the ceremony on The Upper Terrace. Then, during the Reception and Afterparty, there will be a larger range of beverages on offer to enjoy.
When should I RSVP?
As soon as possible! Being an overseas wedding, we’re trying to be as organised as possible. Final RSVPs have to be in by the 2nd of June, 2025 (02/06/2025).
Where should I RSVP to?
The link is provided towards the top of this website, underneath the wedding day count down. Alternatively, the below button will also take to you to the same form.
Do you have Dietary Requirements?
Attached to the RSVP form, is a section that acknowledges dietary requirements. Please fill out this section if you require alternative options.
Gifts...
We are lucky enough to have nearly everything we need for this new chapter together and we kindly request no physical gifts as we have restricted luggage and travelling to do after the wedding. If you wish to give us a gift, a contribution towards our future will be received with love. We will have a wishing well at the wedding for you to place your cards into or if you’d prefer to give your gift to us prior to the wedding, please let Makayla or Brendan know so they can arrange with you the best way to receive it.
